Get Clear or Stay Stuck

“If you don’t know what you want, you’ll never get it.” Sounds obvious, right? But here’s the thing—most people don’t actually know what they want. They have vague ideas, fleeting wishes, or borrowed goals that society or someone else told them they should pursue. And then they wonder why their life feels stuck, messy, or like it’s heading nowhere fast.
The truth is simple but powerful: if you’re not clear about what you want, you can’t expect the universe (or yourself) to deliver it.
Vague Desires, Vague Results
Think about it: if you aren’t specific about your goals or desires, how can you possibly work toward them? How can the opportunities you need find their way to you? Instead, you end up in a cycle of random outcomes—life throwing stuff at you while you stumble through trying to make sense of it.
You might even convince yourself that life is unfair or that “nothing ever works out for me.”
But ask yourself:
Were you crystal clear about what you wanted?
Did you take actionable steps toward it?
Or were you just winging it, hoping life would figure it out for you?
The Universe Needs Direction
Maybe the universe is just trying to keep up with your indecision. It’s throwing options at you, waiting for you to give it some direction. If you don’t decide what you want, it can’t align the right opportunities, people, or resources to help you. It’s like going to a restaurant, refusing to pick something from the menu, and then complaining when the waiter brings you a random dish you don’t like.
When you’re clear about what you want, it’s like giving the universe (and yourself) a destination. Suddenly, the steps to get there start to make sense.
Vision Before Action
Here’s the kicker: vision must precede action if you want to break out of the loop and start moving in a meaningful direction. If you don’t know where you’re going, you’re not going anywhere. Or worse, you’re going in circles.
Want to grow in your career? Define exactly what “growth” means to you.
Dreaming of a fulfilling relationship? Get specific about what that looks and feels like.
Craving financial success? Identify the numbers, strategies, and steps that would make that real.
When your vision is clear, your actions have purpose. Without it, you’re just spinning your wheels.
The Takeaway
If you’re tired of feeling stuck or dissatisfied with life, it’s time to get clear about what you really want. Not what you think you should want. Not what someone else told you to want. What you truly desire.
Once you figure that out, commit to it. Visualize it. Take the steps to make it real. When you combine a clear vision with intentional action, you stop reacting to life and start creating it.
So, what do you want? Define it, chase it, and watch how life starts working with you instead of throwing random curveballs your way.
